About Us

The National Social Value Taskforce (NSVT) was founded in February 2016 by the National Advisory Group for Local Government Procurement (LGA NAG).

The aim of the NSVT is to support the integration of Social Value across all sectors of society to help build a Social Value Economy by promoting dialogue between public, private and 3rd sectors, encouraging radical collaboration and partnership to achieve success.

The NSVT has been part-funded by the LGA to support the development of The TOM System(TM) and a programme of activities agreed upon by the Steering Group on behalf of and with input from Members.

Community is at the centre of everything that the NSVT does and participants are encouraged to share their experiences in order to build our collective knowledge and maximise the value that can be delivered for communities.

The NSVT is an inclusive organisation and welcomes all organisations and individuals who share our vision and wish to contribute to the overall success of our goals and objectives.

The NSVT creates a work plan collaboratively and tasks are delivered by members of the taskforce in an open and transparent way. Outputs from each task/workstream will be made freely available under creative commons attribution non-commercial. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/

All NSVTF members should adhere to the NSVTF Terms of Reference, which include commitments to be open about any conflicts of interest, transparent about the funding of the activities and any commercial gain, and not use any personal data collected for uses other than the work set by the Taskforce.

If you are interested in getting involved, please fill out the form here.

Funding

The LGA supports the work of the NSVTF through the provision of LGA National Advisory Group (NAG) members’ time as well as some occasional small grant funding. This funding and award of contracts are adhered to in line with standard LGA processes. Funding opportunities or calls for collaboration will be published on this website and any organisation can apply. If you have an idea of a workstream that the taskforce should support, please contact us at information@nsvtf.org.

For transparency, below is a list of all previous funding allocated to NSVTF members by the LGA or other public bodies to deliver NSVTF tasks:

1.      The LGA has provided a grant of £10,000 to Social Value Portal to provide the secretariat function to the NSVTF. This funding lasts for the period May 2019 to April 2020 and the grant is to provide the following services

-        Oversee the development of a publicly available and free set of Themes, Outcomes, Measures (‘TOM System’)
